What one sale actually leaves

Enter your price, what the unit costs you, and what your processor takes. The page returns the profit per sale, the break-even ROAS and the price a target profit would need — and prints the arithmetic so you can check it instead of trusting it.

YOUR NUMBERS

Nothing here is sent anywhere. The arithmetic runs in this page and the numbers are forgotten when you close it.

WHAT ONE SALE LEAVES

PROFIT PER SALE

$15.00

39.5% margin on $38.00 brought in.

Buyer pays
$38.00
Platform keeps
$1.40
Everything it costs
$23.00

BREAK-EVEN ROAS

1.65×

Every $1 of ads has to return at least this much for a sale to break even.

PRICE FOR $15.00 PROFIT

$38.01

Rounded up: a price one cent under the target is not the target.

THE ARITHMETIC, IN ORDER

  1. The buyer pays

    $38.00 (no discount)

  2. Platform takes a cut

    2.90% of $38.00 + $0.30 = $1.40

  3. What the sale costs you

    product $9.40 + shipping $4.20 + ads $8.00 + fees $1.40 = $23.00

  4. What is left

    $38.00 − $23.00 = $15.00 (39.5%)

Rounded once per line, in whole cents, so the columns add up. The fee rates above are examples, not advice — your processor sets its own.

WHAT THIS IS NOT

It is not a forecast, and it does not know your business. Every figure comes from what you typed above; if an input is wrong the answer is wrong, and the working is printed so you can find which one.

It also refuses one case on purpose: when fees and costs already meet the price, no ad spend can pay for itself, so the break-even figure is left blank instead of printing a number that would read as advice to spend.

Different products on the same card should be worked out separately. A margin averaged across a catalogue is the number that hides the line losing money.

TWENTY PRODUCTS AT ONCE

This page answers one product at a time. A catalogue is where the money actually leaks, because an average hides the row that loses money — so the same arithmetic is also a workbook: twenty products side by side, the working printed line by line, and counts of how many sit below break-even.
